Because of ONE on ONE with GOD, I’ve been much bolder, and I want to become an even better soldier for Christ.

Instead of just reading my Bible every day, I am experiencing much more fruitful quiet times.
The studies in ONE on ONE aren’t preachy but instead spur the Christian to think on his own under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

I am so glad ONE on ONE came into my life.
It has meant so much. It has shown me how God works in my own personal walk with Him, but what’s really neat is I saw it working and helping my Christian friends have a stronger walk with God. I see ONE on ONE as a personal thing, but it has shown me more of who God really is. Even those who didn’t complete the class still have a stronger walk with God.

_I could not help but connect how you have been faithful to find and use your gifts for the edification of our church and the discipleship of our people through ONE on ONE with GOD.
The course is only one of many ways that a person can be discipled in Christ. But it is a really good way, and the testimonies of men and women daily in their Bibles to know, glorify, and become more like Christ speak to that.
I want to take a moment and capture some of my thoughts regarding ONE on ONE, what led up to my desiring to do it, and the result, having just now finished it_
As you know, I am very close friends with Tim. Between Bob, him hiring me when he was an elder, and serving alongside each other as pastors, we chat a lot about discipleship and church. I remember a couple of years ago, at the men’s retreat, talking with Tim about this guy, Dan, and his Bible study stuff. I must admit that I wrote it off as “something good for the guy who can’t get consistency in the Word.” I did not see a need for it personally, thinking it was just another curriculum, since I was in solid small groups, consistently in the Word, and had limited time with a young family. What brought it back on my radar were the stories of men changed at a core level in how they looked at the Bible and their motivation for reading it daily. Men are a hard group to reach. It was the variety of men talking about the impact ONE on ONE made that grabbed my curiosity. Right about that time you approached me and said that you were looking for disciple-makers. Figuring that this was God-appointed, my response could only be yes in obedience.
After sitting down with you and talking about God’s faithfulness in our lives, I was ready for the challenge of ONE on ONE. One of the things that I looked forward to was the very intentional, no-holds-barred teaching approach you take. I was not surprised when that is exactly what I got for 15 weeks. What I was surprised about was the level in which I was personally challenged and encouraged by the ONE on ONE book. There were three things that permanently shaped how I will do “strategic times” with God till I am called home.
1. Process: One of the most difficult things to lead people through is the daunting task of getting them to start out small, build their confidence in the Word, and then before they know it have them reading and memorizing large portions of scripture. ONE on ONE was perfectly pacedjust the right baby steps in the Word. And before you know it, you are running a biblical marathon with confidence. I felt like any person, regardless of reading comprehension, would experience the confidence and success of getting into the Word with how ONE on ONE leads you.
2. Approach: I absolutely love how all time in the Word is approached with the Ponder, Picture, Pray + journal method. I started the class using my strategic time primarily studying God’s Word to glean truth. I was missing a simple, repeatable approach to quiet times. ONE on ONE‘s approach of Picture, Ponder, Pray helps protect the person from making random personal interpretations of the text while consistently driving the person to apply the truths he/she is being confronted with. The structure of the reading plan is also one of the best that I have seen. I love how the daily reading is two different Old Testament texts, a chapter of Proverbs, and a New Testament text. It is really well thought-out and has me excited to follow it.
3. Perspective: The most powerful thing is the focus of Philippians 3:10 and how it is not only the foundation but the framework for the entire course. You are not reading God’s Word for the mere sake of it. You are driven to it in order to know, glorify, and become more like Christ. Reading the Bible is not the goal, checking off a to-do list is not the goal, and even being a “better” Christian is not the goal. It is clear from start to finish that Christ is the goal. And I love that.
I started ONE on ONE as a person who got into God’s Word daily, most often to study it. Over time the Bible had become a bit of a textbookrequired reading for the course of Christian life. The 15 weeks of ONE on ONE have gently and firmly refocused my time in the Word. Rather than its being work, it is a well, a chance to meet Christ and to lay myself at His feet. Thanks again, Dan, for your sacrifice of time, energy, and prayer. Continue the work that God has called you to. God is using you in mighty ways.
Wage war.

Fifteen weeks ago I was overwhelmed and unable to comprehend what God was trying to relate to me personally.
I was separated from Him.
Today I have a much better attitude toward a personal relationship with God. I have more understanding of what He has planned for me. I know that this is not a temporary thing but a lifelong study.

This program has been beneficial to me.
I always wanted to get started in the Bible, but I just didn’t know how to begin. I’ve grown through ONE on ONE with GOD, and I’m encouraged to continue in His Word.

Fifteen weeks ago I felt like God was there waiting patiently for me to catch up to Him so that He could change my pathto get me off the bench and into the game.
He was probably disappointed in me.
Today I think He is less disappointed and more encouraged by the changes that have been made in me. I have narrowed the gap between me and God and am back on His path, following His commandments and studying His Word.

ONE on ONE with GOD has given me the awareness that it is possible to establish a uniquely personal relationship with the Lorda relationship so strong and fulfilling that it can guide and direct our lives in every aspect.
It offers an opportunity to share our experiences with others, for their help and encouragement, and for us to encourage others as well. The course not only tells us what to do to know Jesus personally but how to do it.

Fifteen weeks ago God found me unwilling to bend in giving up on some tormented times when I felt abandoned by God.
I was unwilling to see how others saw Mormons.
But today God finds me open to admit my renewed need for Him and admitted ignorance of Him. I couldn’t have had the faith I thought I had or lived my life by His laws. I didn’t know the laws. I came away with a guide to develop my own individual, personal relationship and method to praise and know Him.

I was taking a Bible study at church that didn’t work out, so when I saw an announcement in the church bulletin about ONE on ONE with GOD, I joined it.
My eyes and ears have been opened, and I am delighted! I wish I could follow my leader aroundshe is the only true Christian woman I know.

God found me fifteen weeks ago wanting to know Him better but using excuses (cares of the world) to keep from acting on that desire.
I wanted it to be easy, but it isn’t.
Today I’m even hungrier for God’s Word. I have a clearer plan of action to take to get to know Him better. I see God’s plan for me more clearly, yet I also see how much I have to learn. I want to go through ONE on ONE again next year. I enjoyed getting to know and pray for the women in my group.

Fifteen weeks ago I was slipping in my daily walk with the Lord and had less commitment.
My prayer life had slipped to less commitment, and I was not teaching the Word.
But today I walk each day in full with Him, and His Word is saturating my life. I am learning to believe more and receive more in my prayer life. I am saturating my life with His love and acting on His Word.
