When I started ONE on ONE with GOD, God found me thin and hungry to know Him more intimately.
He found me not fully understanding what He has done for me in grace. He found me uncertain of how He wanted me to serve Him and wanting to serve effectively.
After finishing the study, God finds me much more at peace and focused since He’s shown me His will for my service for Him. He finds me still hungry for Him yet more satisfied than ever because He’s taught me so much about Himself these last few months. He finds me more joyful, grateful, and humble than ever before and eager to walk into the future, secure in knowing I walk with Him.

When I started ONE on ONE with GOD, I was attending church, serving on several church committees, and attending Sunday school on a regular basis.
I had no planned structure of studying God’s Word. I had access to good Christian fellowship, but it was far less than it could be.
Now I have learned to give priority to things God has for me and to more fully recognize His presence. I have learned much through reading and then pondering, picturing, and praying. I am more aware of His constant presence in my life. I am learning to appreciate God’s Word and His promises and to recognize His fulfillment of so many things. I am recognizing I have a responsibility to make disciples and to serve others. I’m much further in my spiritual life than I would have been had I not taken ONE on ONE.

Fifteen weeks ago I was saved but didn’t study daily or read my Bible but on Sunday.
I learned that God answers prayer by writing my requests down so I don’t forget what I prayed for. ONE on ONE with GOD helped me set a time aside for Bible study, and that increased my knowledge. I’m a lot closer to God today.

ONE on ONE with GOD has gotten me to look at myself as a Christian and realize how much I need to learn about being the kind of person God wants me to be.
It has shown me that God loves me so much, and I want to know more about Him.

Fifteen weeks ago when I decided to take a refresher course in ONE on ONE with GOD, I wanted to accomplish two things: to renew my commitment to get to know God in a more intimate and personal way and to share this study with others hearing it for the first time.
The study has helped me to spend more concentrated study in the Word. Even though I haven’t spent a great deal of time that I’ve charted, I have spent more time studying the Word than in my quiet time. I find that I do better in a structured program. ONE on ONE had an impact on my life several years ago, and it was there that I learned how much God is interested in every detail of my life. I am back on track now and am relearning to prioritize my time better.

Fifteen weeks ago I had just retired from a high-pressure job.
I liked to go to church and just sit quietly. I needed rest, I guess, after going to work every day for 38 years, and I was not as active in church as I had always been before.
Now I have met some wonderful friends from church. I learned so much! Many things were review and a refresher, but many methods of study were new. It was kind of a rest, and God refreshed me in this group. Thank you!

Fifteen weeks ago God found me eager to grow closer to Him but not really sure how.
I had the desire but not the commitment. God couldn’t/wouldn’t find me in His Word on back-to-back days or sometimes weeks. He knew I didn’t value His Word, nor did I understand it most of the time.
Today God can/will find me every morning, about 10-15 minutes after waking up, in His Word. He finds me still eager and now growing. He finds me understanding, valuing, and even treasuring His Word. His Word is alive and active. He finds me having a determined purpose. I have the desire and a tool to administer the commitment.

When I started ONE on ONE with GOD, I was, at best, inconsistent.
I was getting to the point where I could coast on what I knew. Feelings, consistency, balance, joy, etc. were harder concepts for me. I wanted to know Himthat was a theme for my year last yearbut I really didn’t know how to do that with success. So I lived in defeat, with the guilt of not succeeding in my desires to know Him.
The one thing from ONE on ONE that has really helped me the most with consistency is the Daily Commitment Reminder. Today is a new day, and I can start today getting one step closer to Him. If I do miss a day, my determined purpose hounds me to open up the book again. The three Ps (ponder, picture, pray) help me to really focus on what God is saying to me. I’m feeding myself instead of taking food prepared by others. ONE on ONE has helped me see that being spiritual is a lifelong process of continuous growth.

ONE on ONE has helped me in my life by teaching me more about God and how to change my life to be more like Him.
It has given our whole family a new look at how much better our lives can be when we let God take over.

We just finished Session 15 a few minutes ago.
I wanted to share what the girls wrote down to answer the question, How did God find you fifteen weeks ago, and how does He find you today?
One said, “Fifteen weeks ago God found me broken, not recognizing myself, and without purpose. Today I am closer to knowing who I am and patiently waiting for God to reveal His plans for me now.”
The other said, In June I was wanting a closer relationship with God but was unable to make a commitment. I am now grateful for the time I’ve spentnot dreaded it or felt pressured to do it each day. I look forward to my quiet time. I also am ready to make a commitment not just in this but in other areas.
For me, leading ONE on ONE was NOT on my agenda 25 weeks ago. When someone asked me if I would consider taking her through the class, my thought was, “Are you kidding me? My plate is already full!” But God clearly told me yesand impressed me to ask B. to join us as well.
Going through this time was eye-opening. I have taken or taught the course many times, but I had never written down the dates of when I mastered the memory verses. I’m happy to say that I’m not too old to memorize! I’m currently practicing daily on the verses, and I will keep on keeping on until I can say each of them as easily as John 3:16 rolls off my tongue! God has allowed me to share the verses I’ve been memorizing with my mom, the kids, and others. It is comforting to know that God’s Wordsharp as a double-edged swordprovides a way out when I am tempted or my kids are tempted. He meets all my needs, and His grace is sufficient!

Before I came to ONE on ONE with GOD, I served the Lord with my own strength and sense of responsibility.
I read God’s Word as a textbook rather than a love letter. After completing ONE on ONE, I spend more time appreciating this gift in my daily life, serving God, and acknowledging that He is my strength and wisdom. I read the Bible as I talk and listen to Him. His Word has become more active and alive as I read it.

As a Christian I am called to be a disciple of Christ, day by day and moment by moment.
This is a difficult task, but I have found ONE on ONE with GOD to be very helpful in providing the proper motivation and necessary tools for getting to know Christ more deeply and intimatelywhich is what being a disciple is all about.

Fifteen weeks ago, I was struggling to know the Lord but didn’t know exactly how to do that.
After completing ONE on ONE with GOD, I have a clearer understanding of Him and a very clear understanding of how to walk with Him and become even closer to Him.

Before I started ONE on ONE with GOD, I wanted to have a good relationship with Christ, which I did, but I think I was more focused on knowing the Biblelearning to know Christ through knowing the Bible instead of learning about the Bible through striving to know Christ.
I didn’t really meditate on Scripture.
Fifteen weeks later I find myself, as I read His Word, looking to know Christwho He is, His character and attitude. I am seeking for Christ to speak to me what He wants me to know about Himself. It’s no longer about me but about the Lord. I take Scripture more personally and meditate on it throughout the day.

Fifteen weeks ago I was lost and in need of God’s Word.
Today He finds me very teachable and willing to learn each and every day.
I learned how to let go of self and let God do His work in my life. I learned that God wants to have a loving relationship with each of us and that by doing His will, we’ll become more like Jesus, His only begotten Son. I now realize that God wants to show His love and the love of Christ to us in a mighty way through us. He also wants us to have a closer and deeper relationship with Him.

When I started this study, I was not consistent in my daily Bible reading and study.
I was consistent in daily study for teaching Sunday school to sixth, seventh, and eighth graders, but I was not studying the Bible consistently for my own benefit and education in God’s Word. I was not growing in a deeper relationship with Christ, and I knew it. I am so glad that I have started doing ONE on ONE with GOD.
As we have progressed with this study, I have had problems with completing all the work on a timely basis. We have had to miss a week every once in a while, and it has been tough getting all the Bible reading in and doing the other reading requirements in the ONE on ONE with GOD book. In the last three weeks of this course I have dedicated more time to this study, and the Lord has rewarded me with a better understanding of His Word and His love for me and has given me a desire to share ONE on ONE with GOD with my pastor. My church’s needs are large, and only God can help us through the problems that are in the future. I feel a burden for my church, and I am asking for your prayers for me and my church. Please pray that the Lord will confirm to me that I should teach this course to our members, starting with our church staff.

Fifteen weeks ago, I had no daily walk with the Lord, little commitment, and no plan for changing my situation.
I needed a personal relationship with Jesus, but I wasn’t sure what I should do. I was resistant.
But now I have a future and a hope and joy. I have been encouraged. I have a daily relationship with Jesus, and I know how to grow and maintain this relationship. I want to be a living reflection of my loving God who paid the ultimate price so that I can have access to Him. I am learning to trust Him, and I have learned that yieldedness is the pivot pointthe hinge pinwhere much of my future success as a Christian will turn. I am daily reading my Bible, meditating, praying, and memorizing Scripture.

For years I have desired a more close and personal fellowship with the Lord.
The insights gained through the ONE on ONE with GOD training these past few weeks have helped me to gain this. This study has been a real blessing to me.

I was reading my Bible and praying daily fifteen weeks ago, but now I am saturating my life with God’s Word daily and looking to Him throughout each day in all decisions I make.
I find that as I do this, I am getting closer to Him each day.

I was somewhat discouraged about my devotional life before taking ONE on ONE with GOD.
I was eager to learn something from Him and looking for spiritual renewal in my own life.
Today I am encouraged because my devotional life is much more solid and consistent. I am learning from Him and am excited to know that He is so intimate and personal with me. I am enjoying His Word more, and I am not so burdened by prayer. God has used the past fifteen weeks or so to draw me into deeper relationship with Him. ONE on ONE with GOD, coupled with other studies I am doing, has helped me come to know Him more personally.
